Why is the burden for growth placed on home owners that pay taxes and not those who rent, who also use infrastructure? Have Aidrie public servants been budgeted for pay increases to cope with inflation and property tax increases?

Until we have a council that sticks to funding essential services and stops funding special interest groups, like the arts and culture nonsense, we are going to continue down the road of tax increases.

This budget is full of “nice to have” and in no way reflect necessities. I just cringed reading this.

Residential property taxes are out of sight for many of us. Please do not contribute to the affordability crisis any more.

Spend taxpayers money on essential services and Facilities instead of giving it away to special interest groups and other such associations.

The “Nice to Haves” are NOT for times economic hardship. More families than even are using food banks and y’all are talking about rotating art pieces and waterfountians. These proposals are nothing short of ridiculous at this time. Small government, that stays in its lanes is what we need now. The “Nice to haves” need to wait.

We pay enough in taxes and get nothing for it but our rights trampled and property destroyed by irresponsible building of the industrial area.

Airdries’ property tax is much higher than it is in Abbotsford,BC, where we used to live.
