- The Rocky View Schools (RVS) Board of Trustees approved a $300,000 contribution toward the new artificial turf field at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park. While some trustees initially proposed increasing the amount to $600,000, the Board ultimately supported the original figure. The $6.6 million project aims to benefit 13,000 RVS students and enable the park to host higher-level competitions requiring artificial turf fields. Past contributions from RVS included $230,000 for Cochrane and $500,000 for Langdon turf projects. The City plans to recognize RVS's support through signage and priority access for school activities.

Rocky View Schools (RVS) has informed families and staff about a data breach affecting its PowerSchool system. The breach involved unauthorized access to student and staff demographic data, but RVS confirmed that no financial information was stored in PowerSchool. The breach is under investigation by both PowerSchool and RVS’s technology team, and while the company believes the data has been contained and deleted, the full scope of the incident is still unclear. RVS assured the public that the system remains operational and safe, and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
- The date for the Airdrie Arts and Culture Council’s annual Mayor’s Night of the Arts has been announced. It will take place on February 8th at the Bert Church Theatre. The event, now in its eighth year, will feature several awards, including the Patron of the Arts and Emerging Artist Awards, recognizing local talent across various categories. Mayor Peter Brown expressed excitement for the growing event and emphasized the community’s inclusivity and connection to the arts.
